Welcome to Rocco’s home on the web. We set it up because we think Rocco is amazing, and we think the world needs more Roccos… or at least more of Rocco’s descendants!
Rocco in a nutshell
Rocco is the strapping eight year old great-grandson of the Crufts Best in Show 2010. Beyond his impressive lineage and girth (35kg of solid muscle!), he’s a well trained active family dog who gets along well with other dogs and is a Level 4 trained gun dog to boot. Rocco used to enjoy running miles with his owners several times a week, but unfortunately we overdid it with him and he has had to have surgery (but don’t worry – the vet has confirmed this was not genetic). Now that he’s all patched up, he is again a very active dog that enjoys at least two hourlong hikes through the fields surrounding Reading every day.

Rocco’s KC Pedigree is below, and here’s a link to his page on the Vizsla Database. You’ll see there that he has an 8 generation inbreeding coefficient (“COI”) of 2.1%, well below the breed average of 5.3%.

Below is a video of some of the tricks Rocco knew already at 8 months old. These are just the “party tricks” and don’t include his gun dog training commands and whistle work. It generally took him about an hour to learn each new trick – smart boy!
